Sponsoring A Young Bonpo Monk’s Higher Education Project
Yuan Yuan Educational Foundation has been taking off with wings these
days. One wing carries a mission to propagate one of the youngest Feng
Shui school, His Holiness Professor Lin Yun’s Black Sect Tantric
Buddhist Feng Shui School (BTB), and, the other wing carries a passion
to support one of the oldest spiritual tradition, the Bon, on earth.
Like the symbol of Tai-Chi, our wings represent the Yin and Yang, they
form an inseparable path, entwined in balance, guiding Yuan Yuan
toward its ultimate goal of reaching a world of peace and harmony.
Since 2003, Yuan Yuan Educational Foundation (in short, Yuan Yuan) has
started a fundraising drive to raise funding for young monks’ higher
education at the Dialectic School of the Menri Monastery of the
Tibetan Bon lineage. A much appreciated thank you to many kind hearts
at Yuan Yuan, our effort produced enough funding to sponsor 23 young
Bonpo monks the first year |

Thereafter, Yuan Yuan
has made the project an existing on-going project, so that, more
friends of Yuan Yuan have a chance to put in a collective effort to
support many more young Bonpo monks’ education.
According to His Holiness Lungtok Tenpa’i Nyima Rinpoche, the 33rd
abbot of the Menri Monastery and spiritual leader of the entire Bon
community, the hard working monks rarely are noticed or acknowledged
for the important work they do for the world. This is exactly why we
have committed to this special Project, hoping by sponsoring monks’
higher education, quality future Buddhist teachers will be here to
help the future work of preserving one of the oldest spiritual and
cultural traditions on earth.
As we conclude for the year 2004, more friends have joined. The
numbers of monks who have gotten a sponsor for their higher education
now stands at 46 and growing strong.
